The Three People who Wanted to Marry the Princess

Once upon a time, there lived three people who wanted to marry a princess. The king said that they were going to have a race and that whoever reached the finish line first would marry the princess. The race would start tomorrow. Next morning, the three suitors sprinted there. one of them was a well-trained knight. The other was a wealthy prince and the last suitor was a poor guy but he liked to help others. The king secretly gave three of his most trusted servants each one bag of coins. He said to the three of them:"Hide along the way and listen to the whistle that tells the suitors to start. Then throw three coins on to the road when they pass by. Hide in different spots and the one with the biggest coins in his bag will hide at the finish line. The ones who pick up the coins will definitely lose." The king announced that the whistle would be blown soon. He blew the whistle and they were off!The knight was in the leadfollowed with the prince at close second. The helpful but poor guy was last. Suddenly, the three of the msaw some coins by the road."I'm rich, I'm rich!" Said the two royal heirs. They each picked up one coin. The poor guy was fixed on marrying the princess and he continued running. The two royal heirs were lagging behind. Then the three saw another three coins. As usual, the poor guy kept running but the twosome picked up the coins.they were far behind now and they knew it. They sprinted forward and caught up with the poor guy again. Then, they saw yet another three coins! These coins were much bigger than the other coins they picked and their eyes were gleaming at the sight of all the gold. the poor guy kept running but the two picked up the coins. They wrestled over who could keep the last coin. "Alright, I'll let you hold it first," said the knight to the prince,"but we will settle this later." At this point, they noticed that this time, the poor guy was far ahead of them. "Oh no!" They exclaimed. They took every ounce of their strength to reach the finish mine. But they did not succeed. With tears in her eyes, the princess asked the poor guy:" What is your name?" "My name is John," the poor guy said. The king told his daughter about his plans and she kissed her father on the cheek and said:"Thank you for helping me." From then on, John became a wise ruler and the knight and the prince became known as "The Moneyfaces".
